TROUTBECK WELLNESS BARNS
The Troutbeck site has a rich history embodied in its landscape and in the gracious stone Manor House that defines the center-point of the property. At the property outskirts sits a humble maintenance shed whose intended use was exclusively equipment storage. But its humble barnyard walls and stick-built truss structure charmed many guests and began to fill a need for gatherings that would merge an outdoor picnic experience with a rain-proof event space.
The plan aligns itself to an axis, much like a gothic cathedral. As the plan moves from north to south (left to right) the interior experience opens up from most contained to most volumnous (locker rooms to movement hall).
